Galveston

GALVESTON — First, mid-and high-rise condominiums
were all the rage in Galveston. Now it’s townhouses.
Island planning officials have approved the general
land use plan for Cove View Townhomes, which will
include 100 Mediterranean-style homes on the West
End.
Dallas-based Libby Commercial Realty is developer
of the $23 million project, between FM 3005 and
Stewart Road. Libby Commercial Realty said it was
hoping to appeal not only to empty nesters and retirees,
but also families with children and single professionals.
Several developers are planning small townhouse
projects around the island.
Most recently, rumors were circulating that 30 high-end
townhomes would sprout up at Ferry Road and Seawall
Boulevard.
